Alaska to Florida - Panama Canal Expert

Especially on the Pacific Coast, boats with cruising speeds of under
10 knots require a much different yacht transport strategy. The
reason is there are some very long legs - like Monterey to Morro Bay
(100 miles) that simply cannot be made in a single day, and typical
afternoon weather patterns confound even the best delivery skipper.
A trip from Southern California to San Francisco or further usually
requires at least one night at sea. This takes an experienced
delivery captain and careful planning of weather, tides, and
crew/vessel capabilities to do safely. Have a knowledgeable
delivery captain aboard your yacht delivery. For yacht transport or
boat transport, try SeaSkills as an alternative to Dockwise, Dock
Express, or yacht barge. There are many people who passed the
USCG exam (hands-on skills are NOT assessed by the Coast

Cost

Yacht delivery isn't cheap, but it's often the most reasonable way to move a boat over about
45-feet or so.  Expect around $3 per yacht delivery mile, slow sailboats being more
expensive to move than fast, ocean-capable powerboats. Yacht delivery fees are generally
25%-50% of the overall delivery cost (fuel, provisions, travel, marina fees, etc comprising
the rest) so looking for a low-cost provider may be false economy because it is only a
fraction of your total cost for the delivery (remember: SeaSkills has never had an insurance
